4 out of 5 stars Huxford's Book is #1   May 26, 1999
8 out of 8 found this review helpful

The Huxford's book is still the best Fiestaware reference book on the market.

There are some new pictures that are really great, especially the one of the four shades of green which presents the colors much more accurately. It's too bad that the colors are mislabeled!

This edition also has some new/rare items listed.

So many dealers use this book for pricing pieces and with ECKware's Fiesta software referencing it too, it is a must have and well worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars The book to buy before buying vintage Fiestaware.   January 20, 1999
A must have. The best and most accurate book available. Lots of good photos and explainations. A definite resource for the vintage collector. Won't leave home without it when traveling to an antique show.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent effort with room to grow.   December 28, 1998

This is the most complete collection of Fiesta, Harlequin, Rivera, etc. around. The guide even includes a section on the "new" Fiesta. Overall, it is well written with a comprehensive and easy to follow price guide. The pricing guide also serves as an easy to use index. The pictures are top quality, although I wanted more of them. The picture of the medium green collection, left me forest green with envy.

I would have liked more information about ways to verify unmarked pieces. And, I would have liked to have seen more physical dimensions included. But, most bothersome is the error in labeling the Fiesta greens, which is sure to contribute to the general confusion about medium green.

All-in-all, this book is a really good effort and is an essential tool for any serious collector. It may not be perfect, but it's, by far, the best we've got. Can't wait for the 9th edition.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource   September 18, 1998

All in all, the Huxford's book continues to be THE resource for Fiesta. Have found a couple mistakes in reference to colors shown in the photos... and most noticeably the "greens" collection with medium green being mislabeled! EEED-GADD! This will only confuse the newbies even more. Also would appreciate more new photos, but the cover and the collection of vases is not to be missed. Wish I could drag it with me everywhere but hate to mess it up in my travels. Definetly the resource to have if you are at all serious about being a fiesta collector.

5 out of 5 stars Best quick reference for new and old collectors   September 16, 1998
This edition has wonderful pictures and pictures of very rare and difficult to find pieces. A price guide is included to give collectors an idea of what their collection is worth. These authors have dedicated much time and effort in this compilation of pictures and commentary. One of the most comprehensive guides available for Fiesta collectors.
