5 out of 5 stars An excellent reference book for metal clay   July 17, 2006
19 out of 21 found this review helpful

I just received this book in the mail today. I paged through it quickly to see what was included. I will go through it more slowly later. What I did see the first time I really liked. I was impressed that firing charts for both brands of metal clay were included.

I also like that technique projects to include glass and polymer clay were demonstrated.

There is a lot of "how-to" instructions in this book. In my opinion, this is a great book. I recommend it to anyone looking for directions on how to use metal clay and to get a lot of project ideas. There are many metal clay techniques demonstrated.

Don't hesitate to buy this book.

4 out of 5 stars Covers her subject like a blanket !   March 29, 2006

Ms.Haab Covers her subject very well in that she gives the in formation on both types of metal clay. The temps and specifics to each brand product. The range of techniques translated in to the clay form metalsmithing follow the finished look of the original as close as possible. As a hard art metal person I found not only the descriptions clear and easy to follow but the pictures are bright so you can see the items. Not the artsy type gallery shots in some books. I haven't used any of the projects in it yet, but it is being looked at a lot. I own it.

5 out of 5 stars Best out there!   March 10, 2006

This is without a doubt the best book I own on this subject. It's full of a wide range of great projects and is very inspiring. I read it and immediately wanted to try half a dozen of the projects.

Now,if the publisher just sold chunks of free time to go with it, I'd be set!

Silverwork with a lighter touch. I have already enrolled on a course to learn how to fire with a torch. The explanation in the book was easy to understand but I'm a little scared when it comes to gas and heat.Otherwise a great book with loads of information and easy to do projects. Something for everyone.
