Experiencing the way the design elements are linked together is undoubtedly the best way to appreciate how inventive and skillful those ancient artists were.

The book is a good primer into the subject of Roman mosaic geometric patterns. The patterns are easy to copy and enlarge. The illustrations would be good for drawing or used as a pattern for mosaics.
